Steamed Whole Fish-Fish

(Year End Abundance)

 

 

Ingredients

 

1 whole fish (about 1.5 lbs)
2 tbs vegetable oil
1 tb salt
1 tb cooking wine
¼ cup shredded green onions
2 tbs shredded ginger
3 tbs soy sauce for fish
3 tbs vegetable oil for frying

 

Directions

 

Clean and dry fish with paper towel. Mix oil, salt, and cooking wine in a small bowl and rub the mixture inside and outside of the fish. Marinate for about 10 minutes.

Bring the water in the steamer to a boil. Place the fish on a plate and steam for about 10 minuets over high heat. Remove fish from steamer and drain the excess liquid. Sprinkle green onions, ginger, and the seafood soy sauce over the fish.

 

Heat vegetable oil until smoking and pour over the fish. The oil will cook the green onions and ginger and will bring out the flavor.  Serve immediately.
